

2004 Presidential Election ResultsRESULTS In accordance with the Warrant, the polls were open at 7:00 a.m. and closed at 8:00 p.m. The voters cast their ballots and the results were as follows:
*Write-in Candidate QUESTION 1 THIS QUESTION IS NOT BINDING Shall the state representative from this district be instructed to vote in favor of legislation or a constitutional amendment to require that elections to statewide office (such as Governor, Treasurer, Auditor and Secretary of the Commonwealth) be conducted according to a system of instant runoff voting?
QUESTION 2 THIS QUESTIONS IS NOT BINDING Shall the state representative from this district be instructed to vote in favor of legislation requiring that in all separation and divorce proceedings involving minor children, the court shall uphold the fundamental rights of both parents to the shared physical and legal custody of their children and the children’s right to maximize their time with each parent, so far as is practical, unless one parent is found unfit or the parents agree otherwise, subject to the requirements of existing child support and abuse prevention laws?
The public announcement was made at 8:45 p.m. Six Provisional Ballots were cast and three were determined to be eligible and were counted. On November 16, 2004, the Board of Registrars met and counted three absentee ballots which had been voted and mailed from outside of the United States. These results are included in the totals. 864 ballots were cast, representing 84% of the 1,025 voters registered. Attest: Sandra J. Burgess
