Everyone should have received a copy of the proposed statement. Before we begin, we are asking for your understanding and cooperation; please be aware that we are not at liberty to discuss the specifics of any individual personnel matters. The Selectmen will entertain comments from residents of Pelham after we have read our statement, and will be prepared to address these concerns at a future meeting. If you do make a comment, please give your name and street address; limit your comments to one minute and maintain respect for everyone. Thank you.

Chairman Martell read the following:
October 30, 2008
In response to the inquiries and concerns that we have received in the past few days, the Selectmen of
Pelham would like to issue the following statement: we are deeply saddened by the death of young
Christopher Bizilj. The Selectmen are in touch with the District Attorney’s office regarding the
ongoing investigation and will be reviewing the matter in the future. Pelham Police Chief Edward
Fleury, a member of the organization sponsoring the event, was not on official duty at the time of the
accident. It was not an event sponsored by, or in any way sanctioned by the town of Pelham, its Police
Department, or the Selectmen.  Fleury’s participation with C.O.P. Firearms & Training is a purely
personal pursuit and, as with all interests outside of one’s employment, not subject to our opinion or
approval. We ask that people join us in our thoughts and prayers for the Bizilj family.
Thank you.

Ed Martin made a motion to adjourn at 1:12 p.m., Huber seconded; meeting adjourned.
