Vital RecordsThe Town Clerk is the custodian of vital records for the Town. Those records include birth, death and marriage. In Massachusetts birth records are kept in three places: the birthing community (occurrence community), the residence community and Boston. Death records can also be found in the occurrence community, residence community, and Boston. Marriage certificates are filed in the community in which the couple filed their marriage intentions and in Boston. Certified copies of vital records can be obtained upon request and payment of a fee. In Pelham the fee for certified copies is $5. |
