Business Certificate

In accordance with Chapter 110, §5, a Business Certificate must be filed for business that are operating under a name other than the owner's name and which is not incorporated.

Cost of filing Business Certificate: $25.00

If a change is made with regard to the residence, change of location of business, or withdrawal, or deceased from business or partnership, a Statement of Discontinuance, Change of Residence, Change of Location of Business, Withdrawal, or Deceased from Business or Partnership must be filed with the Town Clerk.

This form cannot be used to change the name of the business.  Rather, this form would be used to discontinue the business and a new Business Certificate would need to be filed.

Please also note that either form needs to be notarized before being filed with the Town Clerk.
