Council On Aging

If you have any ideas for COA events that you would like to have the COA involved with or sponsor we would like to hear from you.

Please consider joining the COA.  About 40% of Pelham's population are seniors (Above 60 years of age).

From the Code of Pelham, ss.16-2:

Duties of the Council shall be to identify the total needs of the community's elderly population; educate the community and enlist support and participation of all citizens concerning these needs; design, promote and support any other programs which are designed to assist elderly programs in the community.

Said Council on Aging shall cooperate with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs and shall be cognizant of all state and federal legislation concerning funding, information exchange and program planning which exists for better community programming for the elderly.

Said Council on Aging shall give an annual report to the Select Board with a copy of that report directed to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
