Electrify Pelham! – Energy Savings Opportunities

Electrify Pelham! – Energy Savings Opportunities

Each year the Pelham community, with its 1,200+ residents, 550+ households and 1,000+ vehicles, produces approximately 10,000 metric tons (MTCO2e*) of greenhouse gases (GHG).  Only about 3% of the total comes from the town’s facilities and vehicles.  The remainder is produced by the homes, vehicles, and appliances of Pelham’s residents and homeowners that rely primarily on fossil fuels.

You can make a difference

With informed decision-making, Pelham’s residents and homeowners can make individual energy choices that will reduce energy usage and costs, increase reliability and comfort, and reduce our community’s carbon footprint.

You can do it your way

A wide spectrum of current and evolving energy choices is available to Pelham’s residents and homeowners including home weatherization, decarbonizing electric heat pumps, hybrid water heaters, electric vehicles (EVs & Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles) and hybrids, energy efficient electric indoor and outdoor appliances, home solar and battery storage, energy control technologies, etc.

Incentives and rebates are available

Substantial state and federal incentives and rebates, educational tools, and knowledgeable contractors are available to help guide your decisions across the entire spectrum of energy choices.

MassSave is the place to start

Massachusetts’s newly updated MassSave program administered through Eversource is the perfect place to start.  An upfront Home Energy Assessment (HEA) provides a detailed understanding of your household energy use and how your informed decisions can improve your energy efficiency, increase comfort, lower emissions, and reduce costs.  The no-cost HEA also unlocks the door to 75-100% incentives on home insulation, 0% loans, and potential rebates of as much as $25,000 on efficient heating, cooling, and water heating upgrades.  Certain electric appliance upgrades (e.g. induction stoves) also qualify for additional MassSave rebates.
